packing : the necessities

packing tumeric, cayenne and cinnamon for my 2 weeks of travel

packing insanity for my trip
insanity - entire sit, including FAST & FURIOUS which is KEY for travel time
packing up for my 2 weeks of travel - leaving in about 15 minutes - i typically forget something so i am trying to avoid that!

  • must pack INSANITY dvds (my favorite workout)
  • vitamins (cinnamon, tumeric and cayenne - check out this article)
  • clarisonic mia brush (i started using this a week ago, and yes i have noticed a textural difference but i have also noticed weird peeling around my nose which is odd considering i have oily skin, i have read it takes 3 weeks for skin to adjust to it, so i will keep you updated on my progress!)
  • conditioner - my hair is super long and i typically forget to pack conditioner, which STINKS because i have found european hotels rarely have conditioner in the hotel bathroom - WEIRD!
  • puma trainers - perfect for workouts!
  • power converters - to keep my phones, laptop, etc charged!

i made an omelet to bring to work as today is going to be really busy i need to make sure i start off my day RIGHT!

change of plans - go with the flow! insanity max interval & joseph's low carb tortilla CHIPS!

i was planning to do a different workout tonight but i left the dvd in my laptop at work - OOPS...
i decided to do insanity max interval - a HYBRID version (details after the pics)

tonight i used joseph's low carb tortillas to whip up some chips to go with my dinner
6 grams of fiber, 7 grams of protein - WHAMMMM!

crispy!

i topped some of the chips with pink himalayan salt and some with nutritional yeast.....
WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

forgot my insanity pure cardio dvd at work so i decided to do a hybrid version of insanity max interval circuit

  • i did the warm up twice through (not three times)
  • for the first circuit which you do 3 times i did pedal/power lunges, ski/pushups/in & out/pushups, power strike then squat/knee up across (so you squat down then on the way up you lift on leg towards the opposite elbow) (subbed instead of frog jumps)
  • for the second circuit which you do 3 times i did jump/hooks, high knee w/twist, plyo side lunge/knee lift (right side) then plyo side lunge/leg lift (left side) (subbed the last 2)
my legs were on FIRE - amazing!  i seriously believe the intensity of your workout is much more important than the length...but WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT!

today we tried popcorn indiana's chip'ins hot buffalo wing flavor

i downloaded a FREE TIMER from the app store this morning (check out the image above for details)

i am going to use the timer tonight to track my 10 set, 1 minute per set workout

tonight i am doing insanity pure cardio then the 10 minute lower body blast workout above.

i have NEVER done a wide leg deadlift!  you can see the move in the image above and below.

side lunge / rotation is shown above - i will utilize a kettlebell or dumbbell.

this morning, i woke up and did insanity fast & furious (it's like my morning coffee, only 20 minutes and a killer way to start your day) but the dvd is skipping more and more, i left a message with beachbody today so cross your fingers they can help me out!  for all of you out there, i change my workout EVERY TIME so i never do the same workout - so for example, i use fast & furious as the base but i may switch 2 or 5 moves to something from another workout to shock my body each and every time i workout.  i truly believe this keeps your body guessing and i think it keeps me more engaged and challenged.

tonight i am going to do insanity pure cardio then my 10 minute lower body blast workout (details above).  i downloaded a free timer from the apple iphone app store (details shown above) which looks like it is going to be super helpful with my timed sessions!!!

tuesday night : insanity cardio power, 150 reps of fun and POPCORN INDIANA KETTLECORN! (thanks casey!)

tonight i did insanity cardio power and 150 reps of FUN (above).
my arms are TOAST.  i am so sore!

i just tore open a bag of popcorn indiana kettlecorn to snack on while i relax.....

tonight i partied with insanity cardio power and 150 reps of fun (details above) - my arms are SO SORE right now.  wow.  i am not sure what move/s did it but the past 2 days of workouts have been amazing and thus muscle soreness inducing.....

i am snacking on popcorn indiana kettlecorn right now - if you haven't tried pi's products you should check them out - amazing popcorn flavors (omg i want to try wasabi!), very tasty and they have a new product called chip'ins which are like popcorn chips!  (casey you rule!)

j brand customer service : GREAT!

one of the best things about the j brand maria jean - perfect length WITHOUT alterations!

i love the maria jean in starless wash - dark blue, lightens up over time, contrast yellow stitching (j brand is well known for this!), stretch/comfortable denim but it does not sag at ALL!
this is a short post to give joseph from j brand jeans a high five for his thorough customer service help!  i had an issue with a pair of j brand jeans i purchased from the website and he was extremely helpful and responsive to my issue.

as you know, i am obsessed with j brand maria jeans - no alterations required, amazing/comfortable denim that does not sag throughout the day, classic washes (love love love starless & majestic) and higher waist (i feel like this fit is good for my body).  on top of that j brand has great customer service reps - like joseph!

this morning i did insanity fast & furious for breakfast (yes i am still waiting on beachbody to help with the damaged/skipping disc)
then i made coconut flour protein pancakes.

this morning i woke up (still feeling a bit weird/under the weather/jet lagged), kicked my butt with insanity fast & furious 20 minute workout then made coconut flour protein pancakes.

coconut flour protein pancakes
1 whole egg
3 egg whites
2 tablespoon bob's red mill coconut flour
1/2 scoop supreme protein vanilla protein powder
splash of vanilla extract
splash of trader joe's pumpkin pie spice
splash of stevia
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

mix ingredients well, until smooth.
heat up pan covered in cooking spray, add a small amount of coconut oil/butter.
fry in pan.
delicious!

tonight i am going to do insanity cardio power then add a bit of leg work.
